“Prosveta” Community Cultural Centre – Chiflik

In 1927, the active and community-minded residents of Chiflik founded their own community cultural centre, which was initially housed in one of the rooms of the local school.

They named it “Prosveta”, and Hristo Danov was elected as its first chairman.

In 1934, a dedicated building was constructed for the cultural centre, with an auditorium, stage, dressing room and library. This provided the facilities needed for the development of cultural and educational activities, as well as amateur performing arts.

The packed auditorium hosted theatrical performances, cultural evenings, poetry recitals and musical performances.

In 1969, the new building of the cultural centre was opened, and it remains the home of its activities to this day.

The cultural centre has a rich cultural calendar and organises a variety of annual events, many of which have become local traditions.
