In the evening, a ritual fire is lit in front of the community cultural centre. People spin burning torches, locally known as oruglyovitsi, as a wish for health and exchange playful traditional sayings.
Children take part in ritual games associated with the holiday, including hamkane with halva, tug-of-war, searching for beads hidden in grain and other activities.
Cheese banitsa is prepared for everyone gathered around the fire, after which people return home to continue the celebration with their families.
